Electronic Press Kit 2025

Abrichten was formed in late 2014 and has been active since then, consistently following a vague plan to combine US-style noise rock and German lyrics. Several band members mysteriously disappeared and had to be replaced with cheap cannon fodder.

Abrichten has been sharing stages with bands such as Dark Web, Friends Of Gas, Kælan Mikla, Schoco Mune, Lingua Nada, Stinkhole and Felix-Florian Tödtloff. In the past, the members of the band have been active in Monozid, Spleen and Die blühenden Landschaften and other groups.

Our home base is the German city of Leipzig and we have no intention to leave. Musically inspired by US American noise rock acts like Laughing Hyenas, The Jesus Lizard and the whole catalogue of the Amphetamine Reptile label, the German lyrics may also incite comparisons to bands like Mutter or Surrogat. The messages are sometimes cryptic and tongue-in-cheek, ranging from inside-jokes to serious self-depreciation, at other times making sarcastic comments about the cultural wasteland of our late capitalist society. To express all these difficult (or pretty stupid) thoughts and feelings, the voice is shifting from spoken words to hoarse roars and wails. Abrichten strongly believe in the power of DIY to save us from never-ending boredom – if you know any better options, please let us know.

Up to now the band has released 3 tapes of disjointed rock music and witty lyricism. All of these have been recorded with the professional help of Alexander Günther (of Studio Tutti). Surely more is to come. For the near future, Abrichten are planning some other smart strategic moves to reach world domination, which the world surely won’t notice. We strongly encourage you to stay tuned and to listen. Maybe you will feel inspired and form your own band, which will do much better. Take care of each other - and don’t forget to smash fascism, whenever you have the option to do so. Peace!
